Let's start at the very beginning...
A very good place to start! (Forgive the obvious Sound of Music reference, but if you're going to write a first blog post on a website devoted to the lives of musicians, how else are you going to start it!?)
I am so glad and grateful you've taken the time to visit this brand new website for the Northeast Region of the AGO. The main purpose of this online space is to foster conversation, meaningful communication, and community. Our members are some of the most interesting, intuitive, and invested people and it is very important to me that you are part of how YOUR region operates.
So I have one simple question for you today: what can your Guild do better? I invite you to name your biggest priority in the Comments section below.
I'll start with mine: to increase communication between all levels of leadership. Before I got involved in leadership, I felt like I never knew what was going on at the National leadership level, much less the regional or local levels. It is my feeling that all members deserve to know how their organization is working on their behalf.
Happily, I can do my part in solving this! There are a couple ways I am working to keep you informed. Firstly, here on this blog, you'll be able to read musings and know what we're up to. Secondly, I encourage everyone to subscribe to the newsletter. This once-a-month publication will be the best way to have information delivered right to your inbox. You'll get notes from other regional & national leaders, fun & informative articles, and other items I think you'll find interesting. I solemnly swear they won't be long-winded! SIGN UP HERE
That's all for today, friends. I look forward to reading your comments on your AGO priorities and discussing with you how we can solve things together. Thanks for reading!
